Special 30th Anniversary Celebrations for Dumfries Church

The Lighthouse Church in Dumfries recently celebrated a significant milestone as it marked its 30th anniversary in a special event. Approximately 100 people congregated at the Lighthouse Church on Lochside Road to commemorate and give thanks for the church’s three decades of service to the local community. Attendees were treated to tributes and inspirational messages from individuals who have played a role in the church’s journey, highlighting the establishment of three new congregations in the region and the nurturing of many individuals into church ministry throughout the years.

Minister Sandy Jamieson-Barr, who has been dedicated to serving as the church’s minister since its inception in 1994, expressed his gratitude, stating, “It’s been a real privilege to serve the community over the years, to have helped and served so many, from weddings, funerals, baby blessings to the thousands of services conducted, encouraging those in their faith and commitment to God.” Following the uplifting service, attendees stayed back to enjoy a delightful afternoon tea hosted by members of the church. Moving forward, the church continues to gather every Sunday at 11 am in the YMCA on Lochside Road, Dumfries, welcoming all who wish to join.

This momentous occasion not only symbolizes the endurance and impact of the Lighthouse Church in the Dumfries community but also signifies a testament to the power of faith and community spirit in coming together to celebrate and support one another in times of joy and reflection. The church’s commitment to fostering a welcoming and nurturing environment for all individuals shines through its 30 years of service, paving the way for continued growth and positive influence in the years to come.
