Section of M9 motorway to close for three nights as part of road improvement works

**Section of M9 Motorway to Close for Three Nights for Road Improvement Works**
A section of the M9 motorway is set to be closed for three consecutive nights as part of essential road improvement works. The closure will affect the southbound carriageway between Junctions 4 and 5, with resurfacing works scheduled to take place from 7.30pm to 6am on Thursday, November 21, Friday, November 22, and an additional night on Monday, November 25 for the installation of traffic loops.
Drivers are advised to follow a signed diversion route during the closures, which will take them from the M9 Junction 5 southbound off-slip via the A905 to Cadgers Brae Roundabout, the A9 and the B805, then continuing onto the A803 Polmont Road and Main Street to M9 Junction 4 Lathallan. The diversion is expected to add around 7.2 miles and approximately 16 minutes to affected journeys, although access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, Tommy Deans, expressed appreciation for road users’ patience during the resurfacing works, emphasizing the importance of the closure for the safety of workers and motorists. Consultation has been conducted with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to ensure awareness of the planned works.
The closure of this section of the M9 is part of ongoing efforts to improve the road infrastructure in the area, and road users are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure.
