Newmains mum thanks daughter for helping her through health issues

A Newmains mother has expressed her gratitude towards her daughter for supporting her through health challenges over the past year. Pauline Davidson chose to nominate her daughter Sarah and her partner William for the weekly Say it with Flowers competition after they had been there for her following her hospitalisation in February. Reflecting on the past year, Pauline shared with Lanarkshire Live, “Sarah actually called the ambulance and if she hadn’t done so it could have been a different story.”
Following her stay in intensive care for two weeks, Pauline faced a long road to recovery. She explained, “It has been very difficult and I couldn’t have done it without Sarah and her partner William.” During the initial months, Pauline was unable to carry out simple tasks as she had lost control of her muscles and limbs. She described how Sarah took care of everything, from cooking to cleaning, while her bed was set up in the living room.
Despite slight improvements, Pauline still struggles with certain activities like climbing stairs. She praised Sarah and William for their unwavering support, stating, “They have really gone above and beyond for me and I can’t thank them enough. They have been absolute angels.” In recognition of Sarah’s dedication, the Daily Record surprised her with a beautiful bouquet of flowers at their home in Newmains.
Pauline expressed her desire to show her appreciation, acknowledging that she could never fully repay Sarah and William for their kindness. This gesture was a token of gratitude for the immense help and care they provided during her challenging time. The heartfelt story serves as a reminder of the importance of familial support and the impact it can have on one’s recovery and well-being.
