Rugby fans to dig deep for Murrayfield collection in memory of tragic Siobhan

Rugby fans are set to come together at Murrayfield Stadium to show their support and donate to a special fund in memory of the late Siobhan Cattigan. The fundraising initiative aims to honour the former Stirling County star, who tragically passed away at the young age of 26. The Siobhan’s Legacy of Love Fund was established to commemorate Siobhan’s legacy as a Scotland international player. She had a deep love for animals, which reflected her passion for ‘hippotherapy’, a treatment involving horse-riding that provides sensory and motor stimulation for young patients at Glasgow Children’s Hospital.
During the upcoming Scotland vs. Australia match, rugby enthusiasts attending the event will have the chance to contribute to this meaningful cause. Around 20 collectors positioned throughout the stadium will be encouraging donations towards the fund. Among those showing their support are Scotland scrum-halves George Horne and Jamie Dobie. George Horne expressed his appreciation for any contributions made to honour Siobhan’s memory and the ongoing efforts to support Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
Siobhan’s family and friends have continued her charitable work by organising various fundraising events posthumously. Kirsten Watson, CEO of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, acknowledged Siobhan’s longstanding dedication to helping others and highlighted the bright legacy she left behind through her altruistic contributions. The initiative to fundraise for the Legacy of Love Fund not only pays tribute to Siobhan’s legacy but also ensures that her spirit of generosity and kindness lives on in supporting young patients in need. By coming together to donate and show their support at Murrayfield, rugby fans are actively participating in honouring and preserving the memory of a beloved player and fundraiser who made a significant impact during her lifetime.
