Cocaine and cannabis worth £9500 found by police in Larkhall house

Police in Larkhall discovered cocaine and cannabis valued at £9500 during a recent house search. The incident unfolded when officers responded to a disturbance call and found the illicit substances at a property in Cameronian Way. Andrew Everett, 34, appeared before Hamilton Sheriff Court where he confessed to being involved in drug supply activities on November 3 last year.

During the court proceedings, prosecutor Lewis Devoy detailed that the officers stumbled upon the drugs inside the house while investigating the disturbance. They uncovered bags of cannabis, digital scales, latex gloves, and cash, as well as a significant amount of cocaine concealed inside a safe. The total haul included 1.34kg of cannabis worth £7500 and 48g of cocaine valued at £2000. Despite Everett’s claim that the drugs were for personal use, he admitted ownership of all the seized substances.

Defence agent Elaine Rae disclosed that Everett, a self-employed landscaper, has been battling drug and alcohol addiction and is undergoing treatment. In light of the circumstances, Sheriff Michael Higgins opted for background reports and postponed sentencing to a later date for further assessment.
