Victims of Sex Education rapist Alexander Westwood want ‘Netflix to know who they’ve hired’

Victims of Sexual Offender Alexander Westwood Call Out Netflix for Employing Him

Victims of the convicted sex offender Alexander Westwood are demanding that Netflix pay attention to who they have hired. Westwood, described as “predatory and manipulative,” was found guilty of 26 sex offences against women and children after a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

Westwood, known for his role in the BBC series Doctors, was accused of forcing pupils in his drama class to perform nude scenes from Shakespeare and other works. He also sexually assaulted one girl over a seven-year period and filmed a teenager naked on his iPad.

The court heard that Westwood, who harboured dreams of stardom from a young age, would use his acting classes as a means to prey on young girls who aspired to showbusiness success. He was described as a “supreme manipulator” who used his status to touch his pupils inappropriately.

Despite the mounting evidence against him, Westwood denied all charges and forced his victims to endure the traumatic experience of facing him in court. Following his conviction, one victim, who remains anonymous, expressed her desire for Netflix and the BBC to be aware of the kind of individual they had employed.

Westwood, who will be sentenced in February next year, has been portrayed as a dangerous individual who abused his power and fame to exploit vulnerable young girls. His victims hope that by speaking out, they can prevent others from falling prey to individuals like Westwood.

In a statement, a representative from Netflix stated that they would investigate the matter and take appropriate action if necessary. They reiterated their commitment to creating a safe and respectful environment for all employees and collaborators.

As the case against Alexander Westwood continues to unfold, it serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safeguarding individuals, especially in industries where power dynamics can easily be abused. The bravery of the victims in coming forward highlights the need for a vigilant and accountable approach to addressing instances of abuse and exploitation in the entertainment industry.
