Snoop Dogg’s Dream Ice Cream Job Has Attracted A Massive Crowd

Snoop Dogg has offered people a chance to get paid $10,000 a month to travel, taste ice cream and help shape the future of his growing brand. The response was so enormous that the application website reportedly buckled under the traffic, leaving hopeful candidates staring at a message telling them to take a break while applications were temporarily paused.
More than 200,000 people had reportedly applied by September 2, turning one unusual job listing into an international scramble for what might be one of the strangest paid gigs of the year. The position sounds like an endless vacation at first, but the successful applicant will actually have plenty of work to do before collecting their final paycheck.

The $10,000 Job Is Very Real
Dr. Bombay, Snoop Dogg’s ice cream brand, opened applications on August 27 for its first International Ice Cream Taster. The three-month independent contractor position pays $10,000 per month, meaning the person selected could earn $30,000 during the initial contract. The role is fully remote, open to applicants around the world and does not require previous professional ice cream tasting experience.
The hiring process is being managed by Deel, a global payroll platform that handles international contracts and payments. That arrangement allows the position to be offered to candidates in numerous countries rather than restricting applications to one particular location. Applicants do need a valid passport because travel forms part of the role.
The job listing appears to have anticipated that people would assume the whole thing was some elaborate publicity stunt. The announcement directly states, “Yes, this is real,” while describing the position as a genuine role with real compensation. That claim was followed by an application rush large enough to temporarily overwhelm the page.

The Application Page Could Not Handle The Rush
The sheer number of people trying to apply quickly became part of the story itself. The application page stopped serving forms and displayed an apology to people attempting to submit their information, explaining that the website was struggling with the volume of applications coming in.
“We’ve had so many applications for Snoop’s dream ice cream job that the site is having a little meltdown,” the message read. It then encouraged visitors to “Take a Smoko, chill for a sec” before promising that applications would be available again shortly.
By September 2, the reported number of applicants had passed 200,000. With only one position available, that means the competition is already enormous, although the numbers have apparently done little to discourage people from wanting a shot at the job.
The appeal is easy to understand. A $10,000 monthly payment, international travel and an unusual role attached to a celebrity-owned brand make for a combination that is difficult to ignore. The job also requires no previous professional tasting background, opening the application process to people who would normally never qualify for a specialist food position.

Snoop Wants A Global Ice Cream Tastemaker
Snoop announced the opportunity himself, making clear that he was looking beyond one country for the person who could help Dr. Bombay understand international tastes. “I’m hiring an international ice-cream taster… $10K per month. U can apply from anywhere in the world,” he posted.
In the announcement, Snoop also asked people to vote on which global city should be considered for the brand’s expansion. Toronto came out on top, adding another international twist to a job that is already built around discovering what people in different markets want to eat.
The role is designed around more than simply deciding whether a scoop tastes good. Dr. Bombay wants someone who can identify food and flavor trends, understand what people are sharing online and suggest ideas that could become future products. The successful applicant will effectively become the company’s eyes and taste buds in different parts of the world.
That explains why the application focuses so heavily on personality and social instincts. The company is looking for someone outgoing and curious who understands food, culture and trends, while also being comfortable creating content and communicating their opinions.

Eating Ice Cream Is Only Part Of The Job
The title makes the position sound like three months of eating free dessert, but the actual responsibilities are considerably broader. The successful candidate will track food and flavor trends, report on what consumers are eating and sharing, pitch potential new flavors and participate in regular calls with the Dr. Bombay team.
Social media is also a significant part of the position. The taster is expected to capture content during tastings and demonstrate an understanding of how food trends develop online. One specific assignment listed for the role involves helping create a Deel-branded flavor.
Applicants are expected to be able to evaluate dairy-based ice cream based on taste, aroma and texture. They do not need formal tasting experience, but the company clearly wants someone who can explain what they are experiencing and turn those observations into useful feedback.
Dr. Maya Warren, Dr. Bombay’s ice cream scientist, described the division between the technical and creative sides of the job. “I’ll take care of the science behind the scenes; you just need to bring curiosity, refined taste buds, and an appetite to have an impact on the future of Dr. Bombay,” Warren said.

The Application Asks Some Very Important Ice Cream Questions
The application form takes an unusually personal approach to finding the right candidate. Applicants are asked where they live, what their social-media handles are and how much ice cream they normally consume in a week. They are also asked whether they prefer their ice cream in a cone or a bowl.
That might sound like a joke, but the questions give applicants an opportunity to demonstrate the kind of personality the company wants. Someone who can talk enthusiastically about ice cream while also creating entertaining social content could have an advantage over someone who simply submits a conventional résumé.
Candidates are also asked what they know about Dr. Bombay’s existing flavors. The application requires an original social post about one of those flavors, effectively turning the hiring process into a small audition for the role itself.
Some of the flavors associated with the brand include Long Beach Fruit Cart, Sticky Caramel Apple Pie and Peanut Butter Jelly Time. The eventual taster could also be involved in developing new concepts as the company expands its product range.
Dr. Bombay Has Been Expanding Beyond The Freezer
Snoop launched Dr. Bombay in 2023 with his son Cordell Broadus, the company’s chief marketing officer. The brand reportedly began after Snoop experimented with combining flavors while dealing with the munchies, eventually turning that idea into a commercial ice cream business.
The company initially entered major retail locations including Walmart and 7-Eleven. It later opened its first storefront on the Venice Beach boardwalk and expanded its business through additional partnerships and products.
Rapper Lil Baby also joined the company as a co-founder and investor. In June 2026, the brand added another product to its lineup with the Snoopsicle, a raspberry, cherry and lime sherbet pop that entered Costco stores.
The international taster position fits into that expansion strategy. As Dr. Bombay looks toward consumers outside its existing markets, the company needs information about the flavors and food trends that could appeal to people in different countries.
There Is A Catch To The Dream Job
The biggest detail applicants need to understand is that this is a three-month contract. The $10,000 monthly payment adds up to $30,000 for the initial engagement, but the position is structured as independent contractor work rather than a permanent employee role.
The job is described as fully remote, although some travel is expected. That means the successful candidate will not necessarily spend three straight months flying from country to country while eating ice cream. There will still be remote work, meetings, trend research, content creation and other responsibilities.
The company has indicated that the initial contract could potentially lead to additional work with its marketing team. However, there is no guarantee of a permanent position after the three-month engagement ends.
That makes the opportunity unusual rather than effortless. The person who gets hired will essentially be paid to combine food tasting, trend research, social media and international consumer insight into one job.
One Person Will Get The Call From Snoop
Applications opened on August 27 and are scheduled to remain open for three weeks, putting the deadline around the middle of September. After applications are reviewed, Snoop’s team will shortlist candidates before the final selection is made.
Then comes the part that could make the entire experience even more surreal: Snoop Dogg is expected to personally call the winner and tell them they got the job.
Somewhere among the reported 200,000-plus applications is one person who managed to convince the company that they have the taste, personality and social instincts needed to represent Dr. Bombay internationally. For everyone else, the dream ends with an email rather than a phone call from Snoop.
For the winner, however, the next three months could look very different from an ordinary work schedule. Their assignments may involve new flavors, international trends, social content and plenty of ice cream, all while earning $10,000 a month.
With applications already overwhelming the website, Dr. Bombay has learned exactly how many people would be willing to make ice cream tasting part of their working life. Now it has to find the one person who can prove they are more than just hungry.
