Ayr Santa Dash entry details unveiled ahead of festive run

Ayr Santa Dash Entry Details Revealed for Festive Run
Organisers of the annual Santa Dash in Ayr have announced that the highly anticipated fundraising event will be held on Sunday, December 15. The event, jointly organised by Ayr Rugby Club, Ayr United FC, and Ayr Cricket Club, will kick off at Ayr Promenade near Pirate Pete’s. Participants will don their Santa costumes and dash along the 5km route to Ayr Rugby Club’s home ground at Millbrae.
Whether running for fun or to support a cause, entrants can use the event as an opportunity to raise funds for local sports teams, community groups, or charities. Brian Williamson, Chairman of Ayr Rugby Club, expressed excitement about the event, stating, “The Santa Dash is a fun event that aims to bring the community together and raise money for good causes. Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome to walk, jog, or run the route.”
Graeme Mathie, Managing Director of Ayr United, reflected on the success of last year’s event despite challenging weather conditions and encouraged more participation this year to make it even better. The entry fee for the Santa Dash is £5 for adults and £3 for children, which includes a complimentary Santa Hat and a finisher’s medal.
Participants are also encouraged to raise funds for their chosen causes, with proceeds from the event benefiting headline charities like Ayrshire Cancer Support, The Ayrshire Hospice, and Harbour Ayrshire. The event will begin at 12pm at Ayr Beach Park, Ayr Esplanade and finish at Ayr Rugby Club in Alloway.
