Brave OAP in West Lothian stands up to robber
A brave pensioner in West Lothian refused to hand over cash to a robber in an attempted robbery incident. The incident occurred on Pumpherston Road in Uphall Station at approximately 11:30 pm on Tuesday, November 26.
Detectives are now seeking information regarding the attempted robbery in Uphall Station. The 72-year-old man was accosted by a man who threatened him and demanded money. However, the victim courageously declined, leading the suspect to flee the scene.
The suspect is described as a white man in his twenties, standing at around 5ft 9in tall. He was spotted wearing black tracksuit bottoms, white Nike trainers with a black tick, a black Under Armour baseball cap, and a grey tracksuit top with a black hooded jacket underneath. Further investigations revealed that the same suspect attempted to gain entry to a nearby property and vehicle on Summerville Court prior to the attempted robbery.
Detective Constable Matthew Morran urged anyone who witnessed the incident or saw a man fitting the description behaving suspiciously to come forward with information. Additionally, individuals with dash cam footage or private CCTV from the area at the time are encouraged to assist in the inquiries.
