Carsphairn SWI trophy winners collect their prizes at the AGM meeting


Carsphairn SWI celebrated another successful year at their recent AGM meeting, where trophy winners were honoured for their achievements. The meeting, presided over by Dorothy Faulds, began with the approval of minutes from the previous year and a presentation by Christine Whipp showcasing the year’s activities. Laughter filled the room as members reminisced about the busy year they had. Treasurer Nancy White presented the financial report, highlighting a successful year with strong support. The upcoming events calendar was discussed, including the SWI Federation Quiz and the Carsphairn SWI Christmas outing.

Lavinia Morris presented the trophies for the year, recognising outstanding achievements. Nancy White was awarded the Kellie Cup for most points, the Watret Trophy for Bunch of Daffodils, and the prize for most entries. Sheila Little received the Rose Bowl for Savoury Muffin, while the Cuthbertson Salver for most points in Flower of the Month was shared between Susie Seed and Nancy White. The election of the new committee members took place, with Melissa Ade elected as president and Dorothy Faulds as vice-president. The evening concluded with the cutting of the traditional Carsphairn SWI birthday cake and a raffle.

The atmosphere of camaraderie and celebration was evident as members enjoyed refreshments and caught up with each other. Carsphairn SWI has once again demonstrated a commitment to shared learning, friendship, and fun throughout the year.
