Dumfries’ Amy Irons has been tasked with Hogmanay role

BBC Scotland has announced that Dumfries-native Amy Irons will be hosting the Hogmanay show for 2024. The broadcaster, who attended St Joseph’s College in Dumfriesshire, is excited to ring in the New Year with viewers across the nation. Alongside a star-studded line-up including Marti Pellow, Skipinnish, and Rianne Downey, Amy will be bringing live performances and entertainment to audiences. The Hogmanay celebrations will culminate in Edinburgh with the traditional Lone Piper, the firing of the Mons Megs, and a dazzling fireworks display.
