Five men charged after Glasgow shop ‘shooting’ as suspects due in court

Five men are facing charges following an incident at a shop in Glasgow, where a shooting was reported. The suspects, aged 20, 20, 33, 35 and 41, are set to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court later today. The charges stem from an investigation into the attempted murder of a 52-year-old man in the Govan area of Glasgow. The victim was injured in the reported shooting at a business on Drumoyne Road on Friday, October 25. He was taken to the hospital and was reported to be in a stable condition. Police are treating the incident as a targeted attack.
Authorities had been looking for three men who were believed to have travelled to Clydebank in a dark-coloured Ford Fiesta. The car was later found burnt out near Cochno Road in Clydebank. Detective Sergeant Laura Roberts appealed for anyone with information to come forward, especially those who were in the area around the time of the incident. She described the three men as walking south on Faifley Road, with two wearing dark clothing and one in a lighter-blue tracksuit.
Police are urging anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area to review it for any relevant information. Detective Sergeant Roberts emphasized the importance of even the smallest piece of information in aiding their investigation. She reassured the public that they believe this was a targeted incident and not a general threat to the community. Concerned individuals or those with information are encouraged to contact the authorities via 101 or Crimestoppers, quoting the incident number 2466 of October 25, 2024.
In conclusion, the five men charged in connection with the Glasgow shop shooting are due in court, highlighting the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to address serious crimes in the area. The authorities have issued appeals for information and support from the community to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice and to maintain public safety in the region.
