Getaway driver who helped teens kill two boys with machetes in mistaken identify murder is jailed for life

A getaway driver who aided four teenagers in the mistaken identity murder of two boys has been sentenced to life in prison. Antony Snook, 45, was convicted of driving Riley Tolliver, 18, and boys aged 15, 16, and 17 to and from Knowle West in Bristol, where they fatally attacked Mason Rist and Max Dixon. Snook will serve a minimum of 38 years for his role in the murder, as determined by Bristol Crown Court.
The incident occurred on January 27, when Mason, 15, and Max, 16, were killed by stab wounds inflicted by the armed teenagers. The attack was carried out as a revenge mission, based on a mistaken identity where Mason and Max were believed to be responsible for an earlier incident in a rival district. Snook facilitated the transportation of the teenagers to and from the scene of the crime in his Audi Q2.
CCTV footage captured the brutal attack, which lasted only 33 seconds from the car pulling up to the teenagers leaving the scene. Mason and Max succumbed to their injuries in the hospital later that night. Despite multiple opportunities to intervene, Snook chose to assist the armed teenagers, leading to the tragic outcome.
During sentencing, Mrs. Justice May criticised Snook’s actions as cowardly and highlighted his responsibility as the only adult present. Snook’s refusal to prevent the violent attack demonstrated a lack of regard for the consequences of his actions. The families of Mason and Max expressed their grief as the sentence was delivered, while Snook showed no emotion.
The four teenagers involved in the murder will face sentencing on December 16 after further evaluations. The community has been shocked by the senseless act of violence committed by these individuals, highlighting the importance of accountability and justice in such cases of extreme violence.
