Glasgow Willy Wonka Experience Organiser Exposed as Sex Pest Who Told Woman ‘You Are My Prey’
The man behind the viral Willy Wonka Experience in Glasgow has been exposed as a sex pest who left a woman traumatised. William Coull, 36, hounded his victim at a property in Glasgow’s Darnley between March 26 and July 2, 2024. Despite being repeatedly told to stop, Coull continued to send explicit pictures and messages to the woman. One of the texts even stated that Coull was a “wolf” and that she was his “prey.”
Coull’s actions came in the aftermath of the disastrous Willy Wonka Experience event he organised in February. Families had paid £35 per ticket for the event held at a warehouse in Whiteinch, which was described as ill-prepared and shoddy, leaving many attendees disappointed. Coull was forced to shut down the event amid claims that it left children in tears.
As a result of his behaviour, Coull’s career has been ruined. He pleaded guilty to engaging in a course of criminal behaviour deemed abusive and was placed on the sex offenders register for one year. Coull also received a sentence of 120 hours of unpaid work and one year of supervision.
During the sentencing at Glasgow Sheriff Court, it was revealed that Coull had suffered a decline in his mental health due to significant media attention, including a documentary about him. Despite this, Coull continued to contact the woman using fake social media accounts, sending explicit messages and images. The woman repeatedly asked him to stop, but Coull persisted, even sending menacing messages.
Sheriff Mark Maguire acknowledged that the custodial threshold had been passed but opted for an alternative to custody for Coull. The sheriff highlighted the alarming nature of Coull’s messages and images, noting that without the sexual content, the case may not have been considered criminal.
The events surrounding William Coull and the Willy Wonka Experience serve as a cautionary tale about the consequences of abusive behaviour and the importance of respecting boundaries in all forms of communication.
