Hard-working Wishaw woman thanked for everything she does for her family

A dedicated and hard-working woman from Wishaw has been recognised and appreciated for her selfless contributions to her family. Marie Kelly, the recipient of this week’s Say it with Flowers award, was nominated by her daughter-in-law Louise Ewan, who is married to Marie’s son Paul. Louise commended Marie for her kindness and love, highlighting how she not only helps with taking care of her grandson, Oliver, but also prepares a weekly family feast without accepting any payment, despite the number of mouths to feed.
Louise shared, “She is there for us all in the blink of an eye, no matter the situation. We really would love to show her how much she really means to all the family with this special nomination.” Marie’s exceptional support was further emphasised by her contributions to Louise and Paul’s wedding earlier this year, where she handcrafted all the favours and cared for their son during their honeymoon.
Acknowledging Marie’s unwavering dedication, she was pleasantly surprised at the Aroma cafe in Larkhall, where she works, with a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a token of appreciation from Pixie’s Petals in Newmains. Despite facing personal challenges, including the loss of her partner two years ago, Marie’s selflessness and continuous support towards her family remain unparalleled.
Louise expressed, “I think she might kill me for nominating her! But I think she deserves it. She’s incredible, and I thought this would be a nice way to recognise her.” The heartwarming story of Marie Kelly serves as a touching reminder of the significant impact one individual’s love and care can have on their loved ones.
In a world filled with constant hustle and bustle, stories like Marie Kelly’s are a beacon of light, showcasing the power of love, selflessness, and dedication within family relationships. It is essential to celebrate and acknowledge individuals like Marie, who embody the true essence of caregiving and support within their families. The Say it with Flowers award serves as a wonderful platform to honour and appreciate those unsung heroes who tirelessly work behind the scenes to uplift and nurture their families. Let Marie Kelly’s story inspire us to cherish and acknowledge the everyday heroes in our lives, who make a significant difference through their unconditional love and support.
