Investigation launched after robber threatens Cambuslang shop worker with substance

Police have launched an investigation after a robber threatened a shop worker with a substance in Cambuslang. The incident took place at the U-Save store on Glebe Place, where the thug threatened to throw a substance at the worker before making off with cash from the till. The store was taped off by police, who are now appealing for information about the incident.
The robbery occurred around 4.45pm on Saturday, November 9, when the man entered the store and initially asked for cigarettes. After claiming to have forgotten his money, he left the store and then returned, demanding money and threatening the shop worker with the unknown substance. The suspect is described as white, around 5ft 3ins, with blonde facial stubble. He was wearing a green jacket, black trousers, and grey trainers.
Detective Constable Karen Hay stated that while the shop worker was unharmed physically, the experience was very frightening for them. Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information about the suspect to come forward. Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2480 of Saturday, 9 November, or provide information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
