Kanye West Dropped by Talent Agency Over Antisemitic Rants

Kanye West’s inflammatory and hateful rhetoric has once again resulted in major professional consequences. The controversial rapper and fashion mogul has been dropped by his talent agency, 33&West, following his recent antisemitic outbursts on social media.
The announcement came via an Instagram Stories post on Monday, February 10th, from Daniel McCartney, a music agent at 33&West. McCartney made it clear that the agency could no longer continue representing West due to his “harmful and hateful remarks.”
“Effective immediately, I’m no longer representing YE (F/K/A Kanye West) due to his harmful and hateful remarks that myself nor 33 & West can stand for,” McCartney wrote, signing off with “peace and love to all.”
A Pattern of Antisemitic Hate Speech
Unfortunately, this is not the first time West has faced backlash for propagating antisemitic hate speech. Just a few days prior, on February 6th, the 47-year-old posted a slur-ridden rant on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), doubling down on his history of making offensive and hateful comments about the Jewish community.
In his latest tirade, West praised Adolf Hitler, defended the incarcerated Sean “Diddy” Combs (who is awaiting trial for several alleged federal sex crimes), and even referenced X owner Elon Musk’s controversial one-armed salute at Donald Trump’s inauguration. West’s rant also included the absurd claim that antisemitism is “just some bulls— Jewish people made up,” and he declared he would “never apologize” for his offensive Jewish comments.
Consequences for Hate Speech
Unsurprisingly, West’s X account was deactivated shortly after his antisemitic posts, with the defunct profile page displaying the message: “This account doesn’t exist.” It remains unclear whether West was removed from the platform or if he deactivated his own account.
This latest incident is simply the most recent in a long line of controversies surrounding West’s reprehensible hate speech. In 2022, he was previously barred from X (then called Twitter) after posting that he wanted to go “death con 3 on Jewish people,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Additionally, West’s past antisemitic remarks have already cost him numerous lucrative brand deals and partnerships. Major fashion brands like Adidas, Balenciaga, and Gap have all cut ties with the rapper, costing him his billionaire status.
An Unexpected Grammy Appearance
West’s dismissal from his talent agency comes just over a week after his unexpected appearance at the 2025 Grammy Awards, where he made his first live televised performance in over a decade. However, despite being allowed to take the stage, PEOPLE exclusively reported that there was no designated seat reserved for West inside the ceremony itself.
This decision likely stemmed from the ongoing backlash and scrutiny surrounding West’s problematic behavior and controversial opinions. The Recording Academy and CBS, which broadcast the Grammys, faced significant criticism for even allowing West to perform in the first place, given his recent history of hate speech and divisive rhetoric.
A Continued Pattern of Divisiveness
Unfortunately, West’s latest antisemitic outburst is just the most recent example in a long pattern of divisive and inflammatory behavior from the artist. In October 2022, he faced widespread condemnation for wearing a “White Lives Matter” shirt during his Yeezy fashion show in Paris, a phrase that is regarded as a hate slogan by many.
West has also been a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, even going so far as to run his own ill-fated presidential campaign in 2020. His political views and endorsements have often been at odds with mainstream public opinion and have further fueled controversies surrounding his public persona.
A Tarnished Legacy
While Kanye West’s musical and creative talents are undeniable, his legacy has become increasingly tarnished by his repeated instances of hate speech, problematic behavior, and divisive rhetoric. His dismissal from 33&West is a clear indication that the entertainment industry is no longer willing to tolerate or enable his harmful and hateful actions.
As West continues to face the consequences of his words and actions, it remains to be seen whether he will eventually learn from these experiences or continue down a path of self-destruction. For now, his once-celebrated career appears to be in a state of free fall, with each new controversy further eroding his professional standing and public reputation.
