Lanark gets set for busy Christmas events programme

Lanark is gearing up for a festive season filled with exciting events, as the town prepares for a busy Christmas programme. The festive celebrations will kick off with the switching on of the Christmas lights on November 16, followed by a Christmas market featuring over 70 stalls on High Street from 10am to 5.30pm. The event will be accompanied by live entertainment, including music, games, and family fun, with Santa himself making an appearance at 5pm to illuminate the town for the holiday season.

Following the lights switch-on, Lanark will host an illuminated Lanimer parade on November 22, offering festive performances and late-night seasonal shopping opportunities from 5pm to 8pm. On December 7, a Christmas pop-up market will showcase more than 30 local artisans and producers from 10am to 3pm, providing the perfect chance to find unique, locally-made gifts in a festive atmosphere.

The town will continue the festive fun with family-friendly events on December 14 and 21, as Santa, his elves, and Poppy the penguin visit Lanark for photo opportunities, storytelling, crafts, and a meet and greet at the Tolbooth from 11.30am to 3.30pm.
