Man, 21, in hospital after ‘serious crash’ with HGV on M8 near Coatbridge

A 21-year-old driver is recovering in hospital following a serious crash involving an HGV on the M8 near Coatbridge, Lanarkshire. The incident occurred at around 12:55 am on Tuesday, November 26, on the westbound carriageway near junction 7. The collision involved a Corsa and an HGV, with the driver of the Corsa being taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the 59-year-old driver of the HGV was uninjured in the crash.
The road was closed for approximately six hours following the incident and was reopened around 6:45 am. Police are now appealing for any witnesses or individuals with dash cam footage of the crash to come forward to assist with their investigation.
