Members of Wishaw YMCA hear of progress organisation has made over past 12 months


Members of Wishaw YMCA have been informed about the progress the organization has achieved over the past 12 months. The group’s Annual General Meeting took place at its new location on Quarry Street, where the local community learned about various ongoing initiatives. Wishaw YMCA chair Mary Jean Ferguson expressed gratitude for the support received: “As our membership grows, we are made stronger. In the 10 months since we relocated to our new base on Quarry Street, we have expanded our services, programs, and membership. This has been an incredible year, and next year promises to be even better.”

Mary Jean further shared some upcoming initiatives, including the launch of WYTV funded by the Community Empowerment Fund, which will enable young people to create content in and around Wishaw. The organization has expanded its staff from one to six individuals in the past year, with the centre now open every day from 10 am to 2 pm and also offering evening activities for children. Mary Jean highlighted the momentum and community support that Wishaw YMCA has been receiving.
