New five-year plan to boost Bridge of Allan unveiled after community effort

A new five-year Community Action Plan has been unveiled in Bridge of Allan near Stirling, aiming to enhance community life in the area. The plan, developed by Discover Bridge of Allan and Bridge of Allan Community Council, has been a collaborative effort over the past year. The focus has been on engaging with residents, workers, and visitors to identify key priorities and establish a community-led plan for the future of the town.
The plan encompasses several key themes such as ‘Community-owned and connected’, ‘Active and inclusive’, ‘Riveting and visitor-friendly’, ‘Environmentally sustainable and scenic’, and ‘Safe and liveable’. Through consultations and engagement with the public and private sectors, these themes have been further developed to ensure a positive impact on the town’s future.
Isabel Walter, chair of the CAP Working Group, expressed her gratitude towards the local community for their overwhelming support throughout the process. Amanda Coulthard, chair of Bridge of Allan Community Council, highlighted the significance of the partnership between Discover Bridge of Allan and the community council in reaching this milestone.
Euan Bain, chair of Discover Bridge of Allan, commended the dedicated team behind the Community Action Plan for their tireless efforts. The collaboration between the two organisations showcases the power of working together towards a common goal.
Additionally, Community Enterprise, a social enterprise based in West Lothian, has played a pivotal role in supporting the development of the plan. The next steps include using the action plan and feedback received to inform the creation of a Local Place Plan for the area.
