North Lanarkshire branch of Reform UK Scotland launches in Coatbridge

The North Lanarkshire branch of Reform UK Scotland has officially launched in Coatbridge, covering the constituencies of Airdrie & Shotts, Coatbridge & Chryston, and Cumbernauld & Kilsyth. Interim chair David Stark expressed concerns about high taxes and energy costs imposed by the SNP and the Tories, along with Labour making life harder for working people and pensioners in their budget decisions. Stark highlighted the formation of local Reform branches across Scotland by ordinary citizens who are fed up with self-serving career politicians.

Reform UK, led by Nigel Farage, has gained momentum with five members of Parliament in the House of Commons and one member in the London Assembly. Following Farage’s return to leadership during the 2024 general election, the party experienced a surge in support, becoming the third-largest party by popular vote. With the Holyrood election of 2026 on the horizon, the North Lanarkshire branch aims to make an impact on political discourse in the region.

The launch of the North Lanarkshire branch signifies a growing movement of grassroots activism challenging established political paradigms. As citizens come together to voice their discontent with traditional party politics, Reform UK Scotland aims to provide an alternative platform for those seeking change. The engagement of local communities in shaping political narratives showcases the power of grassroots movements in influencing decision-making processes. The launch event in Coatbridge marks a significant step towards broader political engagement and diversity in the Scottish political landscape.
