A pensioner is in a “serious condition” in hospital following a car crash in Aberdeenshire on Wednesday. The incident occurred around 1:35 pm, with officers responding to a collision involving a Land Rover Defender and a Ford EcoSport on the A920 near Thornhill on November 13.

The crash resulted in a 72-year-old woman, the driver of the Ford, being taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, along with the 60-year-old female driver of the Land Rover and a 61-year-old male passenger. Hospital staff have described the condition of the 72-year-old woman as serious, while the other two individuals were released after receiving treatment.

Sergeant Eoin Maxwell of the North East Road Policing Unit stated, “Our investigation to establish the cause of the crash is ongoing, and I urge anyone who witnessed it take place to contact us.” He further urged any individuals who were driving on the road around the time of the crash and may have information or dashcam footage to come forward.
