Pram discovered in Scots river sparks emergency response


Emergency services were quickly mobilized to Kilmarnock Water in Scotland after a pram was discovered in the river, sparking concerns on Tuesday morning. Police and fire services rushed to the scene on Sandbed Street in Kilmarnock town centre following reports of the pram at 9:55 am on November 12.

Upon reaching the location, rescuers found the pram to be empty, leading to a sense of relief. Four fire appliances, including two water rescue teams, were deployed to the area, which was located just a few yards away from Kilmarnock Police Station. Firefighters stayed on the scene for approximately 45 minutes after confirming the pram was empty to ensure the safety of the area.

In a statement, a spokesperson from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service mentioned, “We were alerted at 9.55 am on Tuesday, 12 November, to assist emergency partners on Sandbed Street, Kilmarnock.” The fire teams left the scene around 10:41 am after making sure everything was secure.

Police Scotland confirmed that the pram was found empty, and no further action was necessary. The incident left the community shaken but thankfully with a positive outcome.
