Putin ‘knows’ Trump Ukraine deal will fail as he ‘plots to kill leader Zelensky’

Vladimir Putin is reportedly planning to kill Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky and capture the entire country, as he anticipates Donald Trump’s return to power, according to world affairs expert Professor Anthony Glees. Glees believes that Putin is well aware of Trump’s approach to the Ukraine conflict and is preparing for a scenario where Trump may limit American support for Ukraine, leading to Putin’s aggressive actions. This comes amidst tensions in the region, with Ukraine recently launching long-range missiles into Russia.

In an interview following the missile launch, Professor Glees highlighted Putin’s strategic planning and his approval of a new nuclear doctrine, allowing for the use of nuclear weapons under certain threats. He warned that Putin’s intentions could lead to nuclear strikes on Ukraine, the USA, or the UK, if he perceives a threat. Glees also expressed concerns about the current US administration being seen as ‘peaceniks’ and the potential implications of Trump’s approach to foreign policy.

The expert emphasized the need for a strong response to Putin’s threats and underscored the importance of arming with conventional weapons to defend against potential aggression. Glees acknowledged the challenges of this task, particularly for financially strained countries like the UK and EU. He expressed apprehensions about Trump potentially giving Ukraine to Putin and the necessity of bolstering defence capabilities in the face of escalating tensions.

The recent launch of missiles into Russia by Ukraine has raised concerns about the possibility of a wider conflict and the implications of Putin’s new nuclear doctrine. While Putin’s deputy Dmitry Medvedev warned of serious consequences, several NATO countries have issued advisories to prepare for potential conflict. The situation remains volatile, with anxieties over escalating tensions and the response from global leaders like Trump amid the evolving geopolitical landscape.
