Remembrance Sunday service in East Kilbride will honour the fallen

**Remembrance Sunday Service in East Kilbride to Honour the Fallen**
A Remembrance event is scheduled to take place in East Kilbride on Sunday, November 10, to pay tribute to all those who sacrificed their lives in the two World Wars and various conflicts worldwide. At 10.40 am, a brief service will be held at the war memorial located off Graham Avenue, with local groups in attendance. The traditional two-minute silence will be observed at 11 am, accompanied by buglers from The Boys’ Brigade performing “The Last Post” and “Reveille”.
During the wreath-laying ceremony, a piper from East Kilbride Pipe Band will play a lament, while a representative from East Kilbride Parish Church will lead the proceedings. Leading up to Remembrance Sunday, EK MP Joani Reid praised the military personnel and veterans in the area, expressing her pride in their enduring contributions to the nation. She reiterated her commitment to supporting them during her parliamentary tenure.
The event aims to commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of those who served in the armed forces and to honour their memory. It is a time for the community to come together to reflect on the profound impact of war and conflict, and to show gratitude for the freedoms secured through these sacrifices. Such ceremonies serve as poignant reminders of the sacrifices made by individuals in service to their country.
In light of the upcoming Remembrance service, it is heartening to see communities across the country coming together to honour those who have given their lives for the greater good. These events not only pay tribute to the fallen but also serve as a reminder of the importance of remembrance and reflection in preserving the legacy of those who have served. Let us all take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women, past and present, as we gather to pay our respects this Remembrance Sunday.
