Rock around the Christmas tree with free party at West Lothian play centre

A heartwarming event is set to spread joy and festive cheer in West Lothian this Christmas season. Let’s Rock The Spectrum in Armadale, a play centre dedicated to supporting children with additional needs, is hosting a free Christmas party on December 2. The play space, open to children up to seven years old, will transform into a magical wonderland complete with candy floss, a disco, and a visit from Santa.

Rachel O’neil, the centre’s owner, expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support from local businesses towards making the event truly special. Various businesses such as Optimal Events Hire, The Little Occasion company, Zoe’s Face painting and balloons, and more have come forward to contribute to the festive celebrations. A fundraiser has been initiated to collect gifts for the children and prizes for a free adult raffle, with an Amazon wishlist available for those wishing to donate books directly to the centre in Armadale.

In addition to the Christmas event, Let’s Rock The Spectrum has been providing free play passes each month to nominated families and supporting various community initiatives. Rachel highlighted the importance of creating a magical experience for all, regardless of their circumstances, stating, “We want everyone to have a little magic this year.” Let’s Rock The Spectrum was founded by Rachel, a former teacher with extensive experience in inclusive education, who recognized the need for play spaces catering to children with additional support needs.

The play centre offers a variety of stimulating areas including a sensory room, role play stations, a gross motor and movement room, and an enclosed baby space. A range of groups and classes for babies, toddlers, and adults are also available at the centre. Those interested in attending the Christmas party or supporting the initiative can reach out to Rachel directly for more information or to make a donation.
