Rotary Club in Rutherglen Hosts Successful Fundraising Event with Fun Quiz Night

Rutherglen’s local Rotarians recently came together for a successful fun evening at Cathkin Braes Golf Club, raising over £1100 for charities in the area. The event saw a turnout of over 100 Rotarians, guests, and friends of Rotary who participated in a quiz to test their knowledge and support a good cause. Teams of up to four people tackled a series of challenging questions led by quiz masters Alister and Mharie Neil.

Aside from the quiz, attendees enjoyed additional activities such as a competition to slide a pound coin closest to a bottle of single malt whisky, a raffle with a goodies-filled basket as the top prize, and a delicious buffet provided by the golf club caterer. Banners showcasing charity donations exceeding £20,000 made by Rutherglen Rotary in the past year were also on display at the event.

The winning quiz team, composed of Rotarian David Paul’s family members, was awarded by President Elizabeth Nairn and quiz organiser Bill McIntosh. Moreover, the top raffle prize was claimed by Kirsty Copland, a friend of Rotary, and presented by Past President Brian Williams.
