Scots to line streets for Paddy McGuinness’ Children in Need cycle challenge

Scots to Show Support for Paddy McGuinness’ Children in Need Cycle Challenge
Lanarkshire locals are gearing up to line the streets and cheer on Paddy McGuinness as he embarks on the final leg of his challenging cycle journey in aid of Children in Need. The 51-year-old Top Gear presenter is taking on a gruelling 300-mile cycle from Wrexham to Glasgow over five days, riding a customised Raleigh Chopper to raise funds for the BBC charity.
On Friday evening, McGuinness will be passing through the market town of Strathaven, with an estimated arrival time of around 7pm. Spectators are encouraged to keep an eye on the ‘Paddy Tracker’ to track his progress. The cycle challenge can be watched live on BBC One and iPlayer at 7pm on Friday.
McGuinness will be crossing three nations during his journey, starting from Wales, passing through England, and culminating in Scotland. Riding a specially adapted children’s bike with only three gears, he aims to reach the finish line in Glasgow on Friday. A BBC spokesperson highlighted the importance of community support, urging locals to line the streets, cheer McGuinness on, and make donations to Children in Need as he passes through.
Today marks McGuinness’ longest day in the saddle, covering an epic 68 miles. The Radio 2 Breakfast Show reported that the total amount raised so far is an impressive £205,073.
