Teen’s last Snapchat moments captured before fatal stabbing at bus stop

In a tragic turn of events, a teenage girl was captured on Snapchat just moments before she was fatally stabbed in the neck at a bus stop. Elianne Andam, 15, was seen smiling and chatting on the social media platform before the attack took place. Jurors heard that Hassan Sentamu, 18, stabbed Elianne in a fit of anger over a teddy bear belonging to his ex-girlfriend, who was a friend of Elianne’s. The incident occurred during an exchange of belongings where Sentamu failed to return the agreed items, leading to a confrontation that ended in tragedy.

It was reported that Elianne was on her way to school when the attack happened. The court was told that the girls had met Sentamu the evening before the incident, demanding an apology for his behaviour towards his ex-girlfriend. Despite attempts to provoke a reaction from Sentamu with water and mentions of acid, he remained composed. Elianne made a gesture of solidarity by taking back the plastic bag of belongings, which ultimately led to her tragic death.

CCTV footage captured Sentamu chasing Elianne after she retrieved the bag from him, leading to the fatal stabbing. Despite efforts from paramedics, Elianne tragically passed away within an hour of the attack. Sentamu has admitted to manslaughter but denied the charge of murder, citing a “loss of control” due to his autism.

The devastating incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of escalating conflicts and the importance of resolving disputes peacefully. It highlights the devastating impact that violence can have, especially among young people caught in such volatile situations. It is a tragic reminder of the need for conflict resolution and communication skills to prevent such senseless acts of violence in the future. May Elianne Andam rest in peace, and may her story serve as a call for greater understanding and compassion in our communities.
