A young Rangers fan who was scarred for life after being attacked by an XL Bully received a special VIP treatment at Ibrox Stadium. Teddy Kerr, a schoolboy from Paisley, visited the home of his beloved Rangers for the first time on Saturday, thanks to the club gifting him tickets. Teddy had to undergo facial reconstruction and over 100 stitches following the brutal attack by the XL Bully. The incident took place on Greenbank Street in Paisley, and the dog involved was subsequently put down. A 41-year-old man was charged in connection with the attack.

Club captain James Tavernier had previously sent Teddy a personalised letter and tickets for a Scottish Premiership match against Dundee United. The five-year-old was taken to Broxi’s Den at Ibrox, a special suite catering to children with additional needs, where he found refuge from the freezing weather brought by Storm Bert. Teddy’s grandmother, Marion Hanratty, expressed her gratitude towards the Ibrox staff for their kindness and efforts in making Teddy’s first visit to Ibrox truly memorable.

Teddy, accompanied by his sisters and family members, was initially set to sit at the Broomloan Rear section of the stadium. However, stewards arranged for them to enjoy the game from the comfort of Broxi’s Den. Teddy was treated to a hospitality experience, complete with sweets, drinks, and food, and had the chance to catch a glimpse of the Rangers players through a window with his sisters. Despite the match ending in a 1-1 draw, Teddy’s day at Ibrox made him feel like a winner.

Marion Hanratty shared that Teddy was initially nervous due to the cold weather affecting his scars, but he gradually felt more at ease and even engaged with fellow fans and took photos with stewards. The family was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and gifts for Teddy, including tickets for an upcoming game against Kilmarnock, organised by fans in Belfast. A meeting with Rangers mascot Broxi Bear at a Glasgow bar is also on the horizon for Teddy.
