Youngsters from Scouts group in Burnside enjoy a fantastic time in fancy dress

Youngsters from the Scouts group in Burnside had a delightful time dressing up in fancy costumes for a Halloween party recently. The 113th Burnside Scouts group, spanning from four-year-old Squirrels to 17-year-old Explorer scouts, gathered for some spooky fun at their hall on Crawfurd Road. Activities included traditional apple dooking for the younger ones, a rope climbing challenge for the older ones, scones coated in treacle hanging from the ceiling, dancing to scary music, and playing party games.
Most participants went all out with their costumes, with even volunteer leaders fully embracing the spirit of dressing up. Michelle Mackenzie, Squirrel Scout leader, expressed the joy of seeing everyone, especially the little Squirrels, having a great time and trying new challenges. She highlighted the Scouts’ mission to develop life skills for all ages through safe and adventurous programs.
The event not only provided a fun experience for the youngsters but also showcased the inclusive and community-oriented nature of the Scouts group. The group’s commitment to creating a positive and engaging environment for young people was evident in the festive celebration.
For those interested in joining the Scouts group or becoming an adult volunteer, they can reach out to the Group Scout Leader, Graeme, for more information. The Burnside Scouts continue to offer opportunities for personal growth, teamwork, and fun experiences for children and teenagers in the local community.
