105-year-old woman shares secret to a long life and she has a sister aged 103

105-Year-Old Reveals the Secret to a Long Life, with 103-Year-Old Sister by Her Side
Daisy Taylor, a remarkable 105-year-old woman, has shared her secret to a long and fulfilling life, and she has her 103-year-old sister for company on this journey. The incredible duo are defying the odds with their longevity and vitality.
Living in Stratford, east London, Daisy attributes her long life to regular yoga practice, daily stretches, and making sure to have fun every single day. Even after moving to a care home in Chelmsford, Essex, her zest for life has not waned. Engaging in weekly yoga and dance classes, along with her morning stretching routine, Daisy is a true advocate for staying active and vibrant in one’s golden years.
Yoga has become a significant part of Daisy’s life, providing her with mental acuity and a sense of humour that she claims has made her “brainier” as she ages. She firmly believes that staying active and avoiding prolonged periods of sitting are vital for one’s enjoyment of life and ability to appreciate the beauty around them.
Despite her family’s history of longevity, with her sister Alice at 103 and other siblings living well into their nineties, Daisy hadn’t anticipated reaching such a remarkable age. Her philosophy for a fulfilling life is simple yet profound: find joy in the everyday moments, cherish interactions with others, and stay busy doing things that bring happiness.
Daisy’s journey began in 1919 in Leytonstone, East London, where she embarked on a varied career path that included working with machinery, at a soap factory, managing a bakery, and running cafes. With her late husband Ray, she raised a family and enjoyed shared hobbies like traveling, dancing, and attending theatre shows, living a vibrant and active life together.
After Ray’s passing in 1981, Daisy continued to prioritise fitness and movement, eventually moving into a care home in 2022 where she fully embraced the activities and companionship offered. She participates in dancing sessions, weekly yoga classes, and enjoys crafting and painting to keep her mind sharp and engaged.
Celebrating her 105th birthday in style, Daisy’s care home threw her a festive party with a specially crafted cake made by the head chef. Reflecting on her life’s journey, Daisy expressed gratitude for each new day she wakes up to and the opportunities it brings.
Daisy’s story is a testament to the power of staying active, finding joy in the little things, and cultivating a positive outlook on life, regardless of age or circumstances. With her sister by her side and a community of carers who support her, Daisy continues to inspire others to embrace life with enthusiasm and appreciation for all it has to offer.
