Annual scooter rideout will stop in South Lanarkshire to remember war dead

Members of the High Numbers Scooter Club are gearing up for a special rally this Saturday to honour the memory of those who lost their lives while serving in the British Armed Forces. The annual event, organised by the club, will commence from the Black Bull in Cambuslang and make stops at various cenotaphs in South Lanarkshire and Glasgow.
Beginning at 10.45am on Saturday morning, the High Numbers SC members will embark on their rideout at 11am, heading towards East Kilbride. They will meet up with the Incognito Scooter Club at Leeburn before proceeding to East Kilbride’s War Memorial Park to pay their respects. The route will take them back to Cambuslang, then on to Rutherglen Cenotaph, Bridgeton War Memorial, Dennistoun War Memorial at Alexandra Park, the Royal Highland Fusiliers memorial, and finally, George Square Cenotaph in the heart of the city.
Around 60 to 80 riders are expected to participate in the event, with stops along the way for short services to commemorate those who perished in the World Wars. Each rider will contribute a donation that will be allocated to a veterans’ charity.
The annual Remembrance rideout is not only a poignant tribute but also a fundraising initiative for charity. The riders’ journey serves as a heartfelt reminder of the sacrifices made by servicemen and women in conflicts past and present, underscoring the importance of honouring and remembering their bravery.
This annual scooter rideout exemplifies a touching blend of camaraderie, tribute, and giving back to the community. It signifies a meaningful way for individuals to come together, uphold tradition, and support a noble cause. The event serves as a poignant reminder of the significance of remembrance and paying homage to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
