Dad Involved in Altercation Outside Benidorm Nightclub in Critical Condition

A father is currently fighting for his life after an incident outside a nightclub in Benidorm. Andrew Frazer, who had travelled to the holiday destination to celebrate his brother Ian’s birthday, has been placed in an induced coma following the traumatic event. The 43-year-old was reportedly “punched” and rendered unconscious in the street around 1 am on November 14, less than 24 hours after arriving in the resort. He was swiftly rushed to the hospital due to a head injury.

Claire Howard, Andrew’s sister-in-law, revealed that Andrew did not have travel insurance, so his wound was stapled at first and he was sent back to his hotel without a CT scan. However, his condition deteriorated, prompting his transfer to another hospital the following day. A scan there uncovered a severe brain bleed. Claire shared, “The first I knew about it was when Ian rung my sister Carrie to say Andrew is in the hospital. Carrie rang me, I booked us flights and we got there on Saturday morning.”

Andrew, hailing from Sutton in St Helens, underwent emergency craniotomy surgery, where part of his skull was removed to access his brain. He remains hospitalised in an induced coma, unable to walk or talk. A fundraising campaign spearheaded by his friend Shaun McKeegan aims to gather £28,000 for a medical flight back home. Shaun shared, “It’s times like this that bring the best out in us, we all care and want to help.”

As Andrew fights for his life, his family faces immense stress and financial challenges. Claire expressed concerns about funding the medical flight for Andrew’s return home, especially since his parents are elderly and lack passports. With a fundraising target of £28,000 for the medical flight and ongoing medical expenses, the family is reaching out for support from the community.

Andrew’s fundraiser has already collected over £12,000, showcasing the generosity and compassion of donors. The family is deeply grateful for any contributions, no matter how small, as they navigate this difficult time. Andrew’s loved ones are maintaining hope and unity as they stand by his side during his critical condition.
