Award-winning author visits Stewartry school pupils

Award-winning author, Ross MacKenzie, recently visited pupils at Auchencairn and Palnackie Primary Schools in the Stewartry area. The author of The Nowhere Emporium was introduced by a student named Iris who had researched his impressive career. Ross engaged the children by reading excerpts from his book and gave them a sneak peek into his upcoming novel set to be published in the summer. The young audience found Ross to be an inspiring presence and expressed their eagerness to delve further into his literary works. As a token of appreciation, Ross was honoured with one of the new “Reading for Life Scheme” gold badges.
Following the visit, pupils shared their positive feedback, with comments such as, “He was very enthusiastic about his writing,” “I was really excited and wanted to read more,” and “I want to read now and I didn’t really like it before.”
