The event saw 18 teams from across the Stewartry region participate in the annual quiz, with Federation vice-president Christine Whipp and Carol Bryden acting as quiz masters. The quiz consisted of six rounds covering various subjects, and after a close contest, the team from Haugh of Urr emerged victorious. The runners-up were Lochrutton, with Rhonehouse securing third place. Following the competition, attendees enjoyed a delightful tea featuring mince pies and shortbread, before prizes were presented by Lesley Malcolmson.
In addition to the quiz, a carpet bowling competition was held at Castle Douglas Bowlers’ Hall, with six teams from the Stewartry taking part. The competitors had a great time playing and were treated to a lovely tea. The results of the bowling competition were as follows: Townhead claimed the top spot with 7 points and 32 shots, followed by Haugh of Urr 2 in second place with 6 points and 30 shots, and Carsphairn in third with 6 points and 24 shots. Stewartry Federation President Mrs Lesley Malcolmson presented the trophy to the winning team.
