CCTV shows ‘killer’ stroll past cops moments after dumping car with wife’s body

An international manhunt has been launched to find Pankaj Lamba, who is suspected of abandoning his murdered wife in a car boot. The chilling CCTV footage captures Lamba calmly strolling past police moments after the alleged incident. Harshita Brella’s body was found in a silver Vauxhall Corsa, which Lamba drove from their home in Corby, Northants, to Ilford, east London, before fleeing the country.

Footage shows Lamba on the morning of Monday, November 11, walking near the car where Harshita’s body remained undiscovered for nearly three days. He is seen wearing a green coat, grey tracksuit bottoms, and white trainers, carrying a large rucksack as he passes a police car and unsuspecting members of the public. Police believe Harshita was murdered on the evening of Sunday, November 10, with the preliminary cause of death being strangulation.

Detectives are urging anyone who may have seen Lamba between Sunday morning and Monday evening to come forward. Harshita’s sister, Sonia Dabas, revealed that Harshita had struggled after marrying Lamba in India and moving to the UK in March. She described incidents of physical and mental harm, with restrictions placed on Harshita’s activities. Harshita had sought help from the police and obtained a court order banning her husband from contacting her for 28 days.

The family is calling for swift action from the UK and Indian governments to capture Lamba, seeking justice for Harshita. The tragic case highlights the impact of domestic violence and the importance of supporting those in abusive relationships. The investigation continues, with authorities appealing for information to aid in the pursuit of justice for Harshita Brella.

In times of tragedy, it is crucial for communities to come together to support those affected and seek justice for victims of violence. The story of Harshita Brella’s untimely death serves as a stark reminder of the need to address and prevent domestic violence, offering support and protection to those who may be vulnerable in such situations. Through cooperation and awareness, we can strive to create safer environments for individuals facing similar challenges, working towards a society free from harm and injustice.
