Corsock Christmas Craft Fair makes welcome return on Sunday

Corsock Christmas Craft Fair Set to Return This Sunday
The Corsock Christmas Craft Fair is making a much-anticipated comeback this Sunday, bringing a festive spirit to the village hall. The annual event, now in its 20th year, is a highlight for both local craftspeople and visitors who appreciate handcrafted items. Organised by glass artist Amanda Simmons, along with potters Doug Fitch and Hannah McAndrew – all residents of Corsock – the fair will showcase the works of 20 talented local makers.
Visitors can look forward to browsing and purchasing a variety of items, including ceramics, jewellery, glasswork, handmade carpets, and unique pieces such as spoons, ladles, and chopping boards. Among the exhibitors are jeweller Natalie Vardey, illustrator Lucy Hadley, glass blower Christine Milne, and seamstress Vicki from Standingstone Hill Sewing, offering funky pants and slippers. Additionally, Sarah Ade will represent the Afghan Schools Trust with exquisite handmade carpets.
The event also features slipware ceramics by Doug Fitch and Hannah McAndrew, kiln-formed glass by Amanda Simmons, and a selection of wooden crafts from The Handmade Craft House. With an aim to support the thriving community of craftspeople in Dumfries and Galloway, the fair will be open from 11am to 3pm. Entry is £1, inclusive of tea and cake, and visitors are advised to bring cash as not all vendors accept card payments.
In addition to providing a platform for local artisans to showcase their talents, the Corsock Christmas Craft Fair offers a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate creativity during the holiday season. Don’t miss this chance to find unique gifts and support talented makers in the region.
