The location, which has been vacant since the park’s opening over two decades ago, sits adjacent to an area already earmarked for a coffee shop drive-thru.

Agent Rhys Govier, representing the Peel Centre owners, highlighted the economic benefits of the development, mentioning the creation of around 18 full and part-time positions. Following the residents’ statements, the committee, chaired by Councillor Jim Dempster, unanimously agreed to proceed with the development, with the stipulation that the store operates within specific hours from 7am to 11pm.
