Dumfries and Galloway residents receive nearly £50million in Scottish Government benefits

Residents in Dumfries and Galloway have benefitted from almost £50 million in Scottish Government benefits, according to new figures released by Social Security Scotland. The data shows that a total of £1.9 billion in support was distributed across Scotland during the 2023/24 fiscal year, with half of the 14 benefits distributed exclusively available in Scotland. Of this amount, Dumfries and Galloway received £49.5 million in benefits.
