West Lothian residents have been advised of changes to bin collections during the upcoming festive period. Bin collections for grey, blue or green bins will not take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 25 and 26 December 2024 and 1 and 2 January 2025 due to public holidays. Residents whose bins are scheduled for these days are asked to put out their bins on the following Fridays, either 27 December 2024 or 3 January 2025. Bins will be collected during the following week, so it is important to leave them out until they are emptied. Brown bin collections will be suspended for the two-week festive period, with the last collections on Tuesday 24 December 2024 and services resuming on Wednesday 8 January 2025. This decision allows resources to focus on grey, blue, and green bin collections.

Residents with garden waste permits should note that brown bin collections are also suspended over the festive period. All other collections will proceed as scheduled.
