Florence fuel depot explosion kills two people as four others remain unaccounted for


A devastating explosion at a fuel depot in Florence, Italy, has claimed the lives of two individuals, with four others currently missing. Emergency services are at the scene following a massive blast at the ‘Eni’ warehouse in Calenzano, which sent large clouds of smoke billowing into the air, visible from nearby towns. Eight individuals have been transported and admitted to hospitals, with four individuals still missing and two confirmed deceased.

Giuseppe Carovani, the mayor of Florence, indicated that some of the injured are in critical condition, and the situation remains concerning. Residents reported fleeing in fear, with some initially mistaking the blast for a bomb, leading to panic and confusion in the area.
