Green light for modern new home plan near Trump Turnberry

Greenlight Given for Contemporary New Home Proposal near Trump Turnberry
A modern new home is set to replace a derelict stone-built property near the prestigious Trump Turnberry Hotel and golf resort in Ayrshire. The proposal, located on a plot of land at 2 Maidens Road just a few hundred yards south of the luxury resort, has received approval in principle from South Ayrshire Council.
The design statement for the project describes the current site as housing a ruinous house and outlines plans to demolish the existing structure to make way for a new, energy-efficient home built to high standards. The new house will incorporate renewable energy sources, advanced insulation, and modern construction techniques to reduce its carbon footprint.
The proposal also includes measures to preserve existing trees on the site and plant additional trees and shrubs along the boundary to enhance privacy and reduce noise pollution from nearby traffic on the A77 Kirkoswald Road. Despite initial objections from SEPA (Scottish Environment Protection Agency) on flood risk grounds, supplementary information provided by the applicant addressed these concerns, leading to SEPA withdrawing their objections.
The approval under delegated powers highlights the project’s focus on reusing a previously developed brownfield site within a residential area. The council acknowledges the importance of sustainable development and the proximity of the site to other residential properties.
The decision to greenlight this modern new home near Trump Turnberry demonstrates a commitment to sustainable construction practices and revitalising derelict properties in the area. The emphasis on energy efficiency and environmental considerations aligns with the growing trend towards eco-friendly living and construction. The project sets a positive example for future developments seeking to balance luxury living with sustainable practices in beautiful Scottish landscapes.
