Hibs shirts make kids smile at Kenyan school as Easter Road club reach out

Young students at a school in Kenya are now proudly sporting Hibernian Football Club (Hibs) shirts, thanks to a partnership between the club’s sponsor and the school. St Don Bosco School in Likuyani, Kenya, a school that provides support to children with additional needs such as physical impairments or cerebral palsy, has received these shirts as rewards for academic and sporting achievements. The shirts were sent all the way from Easter Road in Edinburgh, thanks to Hibs’ commercial partnership with Capital Credit Union.

The school uses these shirts as incentives to encourage and reward children who excel in various disciplines, whether it be sports, academics, or displaying good citizenship. Recently, five children were honoured with Hibs shirts after their impressive performances at the Disabled Athletics Championships. Marlene Shiels OBE, CEO of Capital Credit Union, expressed her joy at seeing the children’s smiles and their opportunity to dream big and achieve more through this initiative. She emphasized how proud she is to be part of this partnership that brings joy and inspiration to the young students at St Don Bosco School in Kenya.
