Charlie, who is the chief executive of the Clanranald Trust, a charity that promotes Scottish culture and history through re-enactments, has worked closely with Crowe on projects like Gladiator and Robin Hood. Describing the accident that led to his injury, Charlie recounted the harrowing moment when his left leg buckled as he stepped off a platform, causing ligament tears and subsequent formation of blood clots. Despite initial improvement, his condition worsened, leading to severe pain and numbness in his leg. After unsuccessful attempts for treatment in the UK due to previous health issues, Charlie’s wife discovered a specialised procedure called Endovascular Thrombectomy available abroad, costing £25,000.

The procedure, if successful, will enable Charlie to regain mobility and lead a normal life again. He expressed his struggles with not being able to run after his son or engage in physical activities, impacting his work commitments significantly.
