I’m A Celeb star Coleen Rooney reveals ‘worst nightmare’ about ‘draining’ Wagatha Christie saga

Coleen Rooney, known for her time on reality show “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!”, has recently spoken about her distressing experience during the highly publicized ‘Wagatha Christie’ drama with fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy. The 38-year-old celebrity revealed her feelings to her fellow camp mates, describing the saga as her “worst nightmare” and admitting that it was emotionally draining.

The controversy between Coleen and Rebekah sparked when Coleen disclosed that she had strategically posted false stories on her private Instagram account to pinpoint who was leaking personal information to the media. In a surprising move, Coleen took to Twitter in October 2019 to accuse Rebekah’s account of being the source of the leaks. During a conversation at the camp with Dean McCullough and Jane Moore, influencer GK Barry inquired if Coleen had been fearful when she shared the tweet.

Despite the repercussions, Coleen stood by her decision, stating, “No because I just didn’t think it would have the impact it did, because I was just that sick and tired of it, it was draining.” The aftermath saw a notable libel case unfold under the title ‘Vardy V Rooney’, which garnered significant media attention.

Expressing further on her ordeal, Coleen confided, “That was my worst nightmare, to go to court. I felt like it was like putting on a show for the whole world.” Prior to joining the reality show, Coleen expressed her desire to leave the trial behind and showcase her true self to viewers as the authentic “Coleen from Liverpool”.

In an interview with The Mirror, she expressed, “That’s a place that I’ve been, I’ve dealt with it. In my life now, I’m just moving forward and not looking back. That’s something I’ve done my whole life, dealt with things, moved forward at the time and got on. There are more important things to think about with the family and kids.”

Looking ahead, Coleen hopes to be recognised simply as “Coleen from Liverpool”, shedding the baggage of past controversies and focusing on her authentic self. “It’s just me, as I always have been. So hopefully people just think she’s that Scouser that she’s always been,” she added.

As the current season of “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” unfolds, viewers can catch Coleen Rooney’s journey on ITV1 and ITVX as she shares more of her authentic self with the audience. The reality show continues to captivate audiences and provide insights into the lives of its participants.

In summary, Coleen Rooney’s candid revelations about the challenging ‘Wagatha Christie’ saga shed light on the toll that public disputes can take on individuals, despite their public persona. Her willingness to move forward and focus on her true self serves as a reminder of the importance of self-reflection and growth amidst media scrutiny and personal challenges.
