I’m A Celeb’s Ant McPartlin accuses Alan Halsall of ‘passive aggressive’ behaviour in Dean row

In a clash during the opening episode of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’, BBC Radio 1 presenter Dean McCullough found himself at odds with Coronation Street star Alan Halsall, with Ant McPartlin stepping in to accuse Halsall of ‘passive aggressive’ behaviour. The dispute arose when Alan woke Dean from a nap to gather firewood with Loose Women’s Jane Moore. Dean, still groggy, did not immediately respond, leading Alan to question his willingness to help before proceeding to assist Jane himself.
In an Instagram Live session with Dec, Ant McPartlin shared his thoughts on the situation, questioning how he would have reacted and pointing out the passive-aggressive dynamic between Alan and Dean. Ant expressed his stance saying, “I wouldn’t stand for any of that… I would be like ‘shut-up’.”
Dean, unhappy with Alan’s approach, voiced his frustration saying, “If you’re going to wake me up, you need to give me a minute.” He explained the time he needed for his contact lenses to adjust and criticised Alan’s handling of the situation. Despite an attempt to explain himself, Alan apologised if his actions were misconstrued and claimed it was meant as a joke.
Reflecting on the incident later, Dean expressed his displeasure at Alan’s approach and emphasized his willingness to help. Following a conversation with Jane, Dean and Alan eventually worked together to carry wood for the campfire.
The exchange highlighted the tensions that can arise in high-pressure environments, shedding light on the importance of communication and understanding within a group dynamic. As the show progresses, viewers will be eager to see how the campmates navigate their differences and work towards common goals.
