Landmark Perthshire hotel Crieff Hydro set for revamp in 2025

A flagship Perthshire hotel, Crieff Hydro, is gearing up for a significant revamp set to take place early next year. The Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels recently disclosed plans for a multimillion-pound investment at Crieff Hydro. The project will encompass a new day-to-night bar, renovated dining areas, and a speakeasy bar. These enhancements aim to provide guests, Country Club members, and the local community with a fresh look, feel, and experience to enjoy. The renovated areas will feature innovative menus for breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner, along with a revamped cocktail experience, a carefully curated whisky menu, and an expanded champagne offering. The construction work is scheduled to commence in January, with the new facilities expected to be unveiled in spring 2025.

This redevelopment initiative is spearheaded by brothers Richard and Charlie Leckie, representing the sixth generation of the Leckie family at Crieff Hydro. Charlie Leckie expressed, “This investment marks a key milestone in the 156-year journey of Crieff Hydro. It is the most significant investment project we’ve undertaken in the last 20 years and one we’ve been planning for quite some time.” He further added, “My family is proud of the hotel’s heritage, which means so much to the many guests that we welcome every year. We’ll be making sure that history is protected and shared in the contemporary offering we’ll be bringing to our guests.” Crieff Hydro’s chief executive, Stephen Leckie, commented on the project, stating, “Responding to the needs of our guests and a commitment to reinvestment in a family business is what has taken Crieff Hydro from its days as a ‘dry hotel’ a few decades ago to what it is now – a vibrant resort which is enjoyed by all.”

Stephen Leckie continued, “We’ve taken great care to plan this project around our guests and as we progress with the various upgrades in early 2025, we’ll be keeping a wide range of leisure and food and drink options on offer.” Expressing excitement about the unveiling of Crieff Hydro’s new offerings, Leckie highlighted the team’s enthusiasm in welcoming both new and loyal guests to enjoy a variety of exceptional dining experiences. Further details on the revamped food and drink menus and experiences will be revealed in the upcoming months as the renovation progresses.

In conclusion, Crieff Hydro’s upcoming transformation not only reflects a commitment to preserving its heritage but also showcases a dedication to meeting the evolving needs and expectations of guests. The revitalised facilities are poised to offer a contemporary and enriching experience to visitors and the local community alike, consolidating Crieff Hydro’s position as a premier destination in Perthshire.
