Motorists urged to remove vehicles from Dumfries car park amid Storm Darragh flooding fears

Motorists in Dumfries are being urged to remove their vehicles from the Whitesands car park due to fears of potential flooding. The request comes as Storm Darragh approaches, prompting Dumfries and Galloway Council to issue a plea for all cars and vans to be relocated from the area by 6pm on Friday evening. The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has raised concerns about the River Nith overflowing and potentially flooding the car park during the storm.

A council announcement on Facebook stated that SEPA has warned of possible flooding at the Whitesands riverside car park as a result of Storm Darragh.
